HOUSE  (Aug-Dec 2014)  Djerassi Residency  Woodside, CA

This house was built atop a high ridge in the Santa Cruz Mountains as an addition to the Djerassi Foundation's Sculpture Collection.  It stood for 5 months through strong winds, rain, storms blowing off the Pacific, and a 6.5-magnitude earthquake.  Hawks perched on the structure's ridgeline, and deer wandered through.  Visitors hiked up to the house, approaching it from below, and there were sweeping views of the California coastline from every room.
